What I Miss Most...

the dryer.

Our temporary apartment offers a rack instead of a clothes dryer. However, because the weather has been damp all week, my clothes haven't dried in four days. As a result, I've maxed out the rack and now have clothes hangining in every available space.

Fortunately, this laundry catastrophe will be short lived. Max and I expect to move into our new home before the New Year! We celebrated this news by going to Saturn (a local eletronics and home appliance store) to pick out my new washer AND DRYER. Yey!

Within one week we have had two shopping entries.

I know what you mean, when I moved to Italy that was the hardest thing for me to get use to (and the fact that most bathrooms do not have shower curtains - what a mess!)... not having the clothes dryer... and I had to end up ironing all of my clothes! Maybe that is why out of all of the house chores I hate doing the laundry the most.

Good luck to you on your new adventure!!!

Are those $900 sheets I see hanging on a $10 drying rack? ;o)

I would be going NUTS in that situation. I really hope you are able to find a way to spend your time and days until you can move into your amazing new home! One day at a time...that usually works pretty well. Ha!

You could always try not wearing clothes at home for the next few weeks, Diane. Max probably won't mind.

Dave has a point, although it may result in a larger heating bill....LOL

I would HATE to have to do without a washer and dryer, so I am glad to know you will have them soon.

I got a kick out of your story today on skype. The picture is really funny I just showed B. Sorry I missed you before you went to bed. I had to go to 2 stores and unpack and got sidetracked and by the time I remembered it was 10pm your time. :(

Man, I wish I had room even for a dryer rack.

Good luck with the move!

mmmkay, so it is totally inappropriate for me to smile at the drying rack, but it isn't everyday that I have a flashback to college. We had t-shirts hanging from every decorative element our rental house. Oh, and I use the phrase, decorative loosely....very loosely.

I am sorry you're without a dryer right now but I am happy that you will have one soon - a late Christmas present! hang in there!

The things we take for granted. I love having a dryer in the house so I feel you.
