Flashback Friday

This is me, circa 1975, with my new baby sister, Annie.

Notice the dazed look on my face. I'm not sure if it was because I was confused by what I held in my arms or the plastic couch covers that cushioned my seat.

Did your moms decorate in plastic???

Grandma did. Hated it.

Gotta dig the plastic covers circa 1970's. I think I peeled myself off that couch a time or two.

Awww you're so cute! Nope, Mom was always anti-plastic and made a point to laugh at people who used it. Our next door neighbor when I was growing up actually had plastic runners all over their house to walk on!

I hate to laugh at the misfortune of others... aw, who am I kidding. That is hysterical. How do you get comfortable on plastic? Do you have to lay material (a towel, maybe?) on top of it?

No Plastic for us! But some of my friends had plastic on their couches, I thought it was funny! They even had plastic on their lampshades!

Now that I have children, I understand why people may do that. But me personally I prefer scotchguard.
You were a cutie-patootie even then:O)

My couch is covered in plastic. Are you saying there's something wrong with that?

Cure picture of you Diane, and your baby sister. :-)

My mom never did the plastic thing. Growing up, they had a lot of 2nd hand furniture, and of course the new eating in the livingroom rule. (They bought the good stuff when we started leaving home one by one)

It is a pretty couch.

You were an awfully cute kid, Diane. Hmmmm. And your sister was such a HUGE baby.

Nada on the plastic thing. Not even either grandmother did that. The whole idea strikes me as insane. Why buy comfortable furniture if you're going to put plastic on it? Hell, just get lawn chairs.
