I almost never feel too ill to write-- until this past week. Though I worked my day job and at the pub most of last week feeling less than fabulous, by Friday I knew something was terribly wrong. 101 fever, chills, hot sweats -- I've been down for the count all weekend. I don't know what little virus I've picked up, but it has certainly knocked me on my ass.
Even as I type, I am running a fever. So, it's back to the doctor tomorrow.
Friend and blog reader, Senior Advisor, knows me too well. The week prior she'd been at my home and saw firsthand my refrigerator stash, which included alcohol and lean cuisines. Assuming I was left without proper sick person essentials, she graciouly offered to pick up some orange juice (and any other necessities) this weekend. But, Senior Advisor was shocked to learn that I actually had orange juice in my refrigerator.
I mean, really, how could I go without orange juice? It's a key mixer for the cocktails the Screw Drivers and the Fuzzy Navel. Please, Senior Adviser, give me some credit. ;-) In truth, I only keep pineapple juice on hand for my French Martini recipe. Thanks to this nasty bug, however, I am now out of both.
Anyway, I **am** sorry I have been delinquent on your blogs. I've got some catching up to do. And I will -- as soon as I'm feeling a little better.

I hope you feel better!!!!!!!!
I hope you're feeling better, Diane. I was sick over the past week also but not anywhere near what you describe. I hope the OJ and pineapple juice you had on hand helped...
don't forget some nourishment with whatever soup sounds palatable!
Oh Goodness this is going around! I hope you get well real soon :)
Oh! If I were there, I would make you some homemade soup! Juice is always my cure. That french martini sounds very interesting. What is the recipe? Pray tell!
Hope you're feeling better Diane. Get plenty of rest.

I don't know how I could have assumed you'd be without OJ—you could have run out earlier in the week however by drinking it for non-medicinal purposes. :-)
Glad you're on the mend. I'm trying to fight off something as we speak. Perhaps a shot or two of sloe gin will cure what ails me!
