Back on the band wagon

I'm joining Weight Watchers today. It's time. It's really time.

With April comes warm weather and thoughts of bathing suit season. Plus, Maximus surprised me with round-trip, 1st-class tickets to San Francisco for the Memorial Day weekend holiday. Can you believe that although I've stood on The Great Wall of China and haggled with merchants in the markets of Turkey, I have never been to California?

I can't help but think it will be nice to share this 'first' with Max. California, here I come! ;-)

Before we start the weight-loss lectures, folks, let me say upfront that I understand my weight is still relatively healthy. However, I also know that have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. Of course, I blame this all on my $1.50 drycleaner, but only because he sits near both Baskin Robbins and Starbucks.

Regardless, I am officially "on the band wagon." I know I've said these words time and time again, but this time I mean it. Really! Just the thought of stepping on that Weight Watcher scale every week should give me the motivation to stay on track. And this time I've got additional support--I'm joining with my friend, Jan. When Jan called looking for a Weight Watchers buddy, I readily agreed. I am actually excited by the prospect of being back on the program. The first time I was on Weight Watchers many years ago, I lost over 30 pounds. I'm shooting for less than half that this time around.

Of course, Max tells me I'm perfect as is, but he is still supporting my effort in his own special way. He bought me a membership to his gym so that we can encourage each other and work out together. Am I spoiled, or what? On second thought, don't answer that.

That's fantastic Diane! I've always wanted to go to San Francisco! I am sure you will have a fabulous time with your new man! :-)

Good luck with the Weight Watchers. I may need to join if I succeed in quitting smoking this month. ;-)

To paraphrase Mrs Santa in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: Have you ever heard of a thin Greek? Eat, eat!

Yes, Diane, call me an enabler. :-)

Drop me a line while you're out here! Oh, and bring a rain jacket if you'll be in the area in the next couple of weeks.

And most importantly, take a break from WW while you're in the Bay Area. Too many good places to eat.

3t - Quitting smoking is a very loft goal, as I am sure you know. Definately worth the extra pounds that might ensue. I've seen your photos-- You look great anyway. A few extra pounds wouldn't hurt you at all.

U - Get behind me, Utenzi.

Kom - I'll def drop you a line while I am there. I heard you all were breaking 30-year rain records right now. Hope it clears up by the end of May.

Zero and Tam - Thanks for the well wishes, as always. I hope the work out buddy helps, couldn't hurt, right?

DoorSteward-- It's about time!!! I was worried about you.

Jaws - You know they have Weight Watchers online now?? It's a really good program. I've been on them all. This one actually worked for me.
