Up for air

Hello, all!

Missed me? I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I apologize for my absence. Like many of you, everyday life has sort of gotten the best of me. I've had little energy and brain power to spend on writing anything remotely coherent.

Still, I feel bad that I've been gone so long. While I do not yet have any little tales to share (mostly because I haven't had a moment to wrap my head around my writing), let me at least give you a quick update on what's been going on in my life.

Max ended up back in the emergency room the morning before Thanksgiving, only this time the culprit was gall stones. We're waiting to meet with a specialist before determining is surgery is required.

I did make it to my parents' house for Thanksgiving weekend. It ended up being one of the nicest visits in recent memory--no drama. What a relief!

I am beginning to suspect my dog Charlie has diabetes, mostly because he drinks an excessive amount of water. A visit to the vet is planned, not only for the blood tests but also for neutering. In the meantime, Charlie,Max, and I are trying are luck with puppy school. I am happy to report he has not yet been thrown out of class, but progress is slow if any.

Max and I started ballroom dance lessons. We're learning the waltz, fox trot, swing, cha-cha, rumba and American tango. I actually know a few of these dances pretty well, but am happy to expand my repertoire with such an eager partner. :-)

Max is already done with his Christmas shopping. Don't you just hate people like that?

Speaking of Max, he's away this week and I have managed to lose every TV remote in the house. How is this possible?

Christmas shopping can be done in the month of November? Who knew?!!

Ballroom dancing sounds fun.. I wonder if my boy would play along with that. It's a thought anyway.

Shiner is one day 2 of being out of his kennel. So far, *knocking on wood* so good.

Thanks for the update- I missed your updates!

and I just read this:

Some dogs drink excessive amounts of water out of boredom or habit and therefore have to urinate too frequently. If this is your dog, limit her water, take her to her toilet area more frequently and give her activities to do so she isn't bored.

Maybe it isn't diabetes!!

Missed you too. I'm so glad that you guys are doing ballroom. It's so much fun, and is even better with a steady partner.

Sorry to hear about all the medical difficulties. Hopefully it will all be over and without surgery. I hope Charlie isn't diabetic. Fingers crossed with the vet!

Ooooh! I have always wanted to learn to Ballroom Dance! When I was A Kid, My Grandparents took me along to Their Ballroom Dance Class and I got to learn The Hustle!!

And, yeah. That One has come in handy.

I was wondering where you went to.

Hope it's nothing serious with the dog.

People who shop too early are suckers! How are they supposed to afford the hints that are never properly dropped until at least TG is over?

People like Max make me very jealous. I won't finish until December 23rd guaranteed. I procrastinate too often.

Welcome back! I hope Max doesn't have to have the surgery. Is that why he did all his shoppping so early? LOL
