What I didn’t blog about this week

Monday - Poor Charlie! When I left him at the doggie hotel for the weekend, I asked the on-site groomer to give him a trim. You guessed it. We’re back at square one. At least, this time around, the weather better suits his new do.

Tuesday – Speaking of weather, it’s almost 90 degrees in my locale. Have I mentioned that my home doesn’t have air conditioning? I’m beginning to worry about how I’ll fair during July and August heat. Think Wicked Witch of the West with fashion sense and tad better disposition. “I’m melting! I’m melting!” If only I had those ruby slippers to take me away from the August heat and humidity.

Friday – Judging from my blogroll, you can guess that I read LOTS of blogs. Often, when I read your words, I am inspired. Sometimes, it’s the story or the quality of the writing. Other times, your photographs blow me away or you’ve offered a perspective I have never before considered.

I want to show you how much I appreciate this.

And so…

I’ve decided, even though the world is already filled with too many tacky awards shows, to offer a Very Martini Toast to one blogger each month. It’s my way of telling you how much I appreciate your efforts and willingness to put it out there.

Look for June’s Toastee on Monday.

Charlie is too cute... albeit a little shortly shorn.

Have fun catching up on everyones blogs... think of it as a "free" book for your weekend.

Ha! The awards Toastee is going to be good.

Grunt - I figure it will be better than an awards Roastee! :-)

I hear ya about the weather! Last month it was cold...and now BAM! The iced coffee can't come fast enough in our house :)

Looking forward to the award honorees...I love finding new people to read/see :)

Diane ~ Cute post! I look forward to Monday! By the way... you can borrow MY RUDY SLIPPERS! By August and September you'll be needing them if it is already 90º in May! ~ jb///

Poor Charlie, they just want to keep him naked!

Get a couple of oscillating fans. One for the bedroom, one for the living area.

Remember the suggestions for screens? Crack open the windows with the screens, turn on the fans.

Keep the rolladens closed on the side of the house with the sun.

Go get a couple of cute sundresses.

Add a cool drink (my favorite was lime schorle) and you'll be fine.

I love the idea of a Very Martini Toast! SO COOL!! Wish I was motivated enough with my blog to deserve one... I really need to get back at it, don't I? Ha!

Have a great weekend and good luck with the twins!

I feel for you! It gets to 70 and I'm miserable, I can't imagine 90 without AC. The hot flashes already make me naturally flushed, I need relief ;)

you monthly roast sounds like a cool idea.

Oh my God they shaved your dog ! I'm sorry - I understand as well. We have a hard time here finding someone with a bit of sense to cut Yuki.

Oh no! Charlie is nekkid!

Little White Canine just got the same haircut. Maybe they can hang out at a nudist camp for doggies together?

I am sure Charlie will appreciate the haircut, due to your high temps (which are the same here in Raleigh this weekend).

whatever you do, don't go to charlie's barber for your pixie cut. please.

no ac? that's...that's...barbaric! can you buy fans? or would that just shift hot air 'round your pad?

think of it as a sauna. wrestlers use 'em to drop pounds. by the time egypt rolls around, you'll be at your desired weight. unhealthy and weak, but at your desired weight!

I know when I lived in Mannheim.. The Germans would head down to the water tower & lay out in their bras... Hmmm... just a suggestion (wink) have a super... WARM weekend! On the radio they said that Fredrikstad(here) was warmer than Spain... Sure it won't last.

That is quite a blogroll. I am impressed, not sure I could get through one that large.
