What I didn't blog about this week

Mac has finally been resurrected thanks to a new hard drive, which came on Wednesday afternoon and was covered by Apple. SInce then, I've been busy reloading all the programs I lost. Because I hadn't bothered to back up (not my brightest decision) I cannot recover everything, most notably over thousand of photographs from recent trips. Boo!

Of course, this week we are off to make new memories. Some of Max's friends arrived on Wednesday and we are taking them to many places we have visited before but with our cameras in hand, so we can begin to rebuild photo albums.

Next week, I'm solo. Max flies off on a business trip, leaving me wondering how I might spend my week. WIth Charlie as my traveling companion, I am contemplating a road trip to Berlin toward the end of next week. I've never visited the city, but hear it's fantastic. Ever been there?

Berlin is great. We took my parents there just before Christmas last year. The Wall of course is amazing to see and to see the pavers set where the wall used to be along and through the streets, just amazing. The Brandenburg Gate, the Jewish memorials, the government congressional type building (can't remember what it's called), Checkpoint Charlie. The city is a great mix of old and new architecture.
The city has a great subway so it's super easy to get anywhere.
If I didn't have kids, I'd be happy to tag along in your little Mini for a road trip ;)

I feel your pain. Had to go out and buy a new computer last week. I have spent untold hours trying to recove and move files to the new computer.

I lost stuff years ago when hard drive failed - I'm a devoted backer-upper ever since.
