His first time
Maybe the photo is a little too personal for general blog consumption. It was Max's first time, you know. After 14 years, he got the chance to vote in a U.S. election. Ordinarily, voting is a very private matter, but Max's first ballot, a mail-in, required two witnesses sign the return envelope. And so, it was.

Mazel Tov, Max!
THis is also my first general election ballot. Iasked the German if I could have it witnessed at the Post Office, but he said: This is Germany, so I guess not. I may need to wait until book club to get it signed...
This totally made me all weepy. YAY MAX!
Woooohoooo!
2 witnesses and BEER ;)
Congratulations to Max! This is wonderful :-)
Congratulations Max! This election will be my first time voting in person. I've always been away at college or in Germany. I can't wait!
Oh congratulations! That is extremely exciting!
YAY MAX!!! What an awesome milestone! Congrats to Max AND America. :o)
Woohoo! That is exciting! Go Max! Cute pic!
Voting is sort of like believing in santa. We need more believers.
Very cool! Congrats Max! And now, you have more than 2 witnesses :-)
Way to rock the vote!
good boy! i love all these pics of you two together!
as an old lady would say, you make a very handsome couple! xoxo.
Big moment! And I sincerely hope Max did not get too nervous about it all and voted for the wrong guy!
so awesome!!!!!
You have an award, please stop by :-)
ALRIGHT! Congrats to Max!!! Every vote counts. And since he's so cute, maybe his will even count double ... :-)
Congrats, Max. Some people take voting for granted, I'm glad you don't.
I didn't know that some states required witnesses.
Damn, Diane. You look like a teenager in that picture. Are you old enough to legally witness Max's signature?
Mine does too, so tonight I have to knock on a neighbor's door and ask him to witness. I can't quite understand the point, as there's no notarization or proof of signature.
Congratulations, Max! Your vote looks a lot more glamorous than our did - sitting around in sweatpants looking up all the different local candidates.
And the witnessing thing sounds odd. Our state used to require notarization for absentee ballots (good excuse for a day trip to Munich), but the witnessing seems arbitrary.
Still not getting me feed updates .darn it.
Congratulations! This was actually only my second time voting (cause I've just never really cared before)
I had to stop and tell you how much I loved this post. So darn exciting! I look forward to the day that I marry some American so I can vote in the election.
