Meet our cat, Rascal. She's so quiet and undemanding (unlike her younger step-sibling, Charlie) that, most days, I hardly know she's around. But lately, she's taken to the unusual habit of sitting and watching television--especially CNN.
It's certainly a curious sight, but I am not sure what to make of it. Do you have any theories as to why?

Your cat has great taste!
She's either a political junkie, or she's worried about her 401K.
Rascal, like me, has got a big fat crush on Barack Obama.
Our cats do the same thing - during the winter when they are cold. Feel the area in front of your television after it's been on a while. It's quite warm there...
The warmth, the movement, and perhaps the voices (if she misses Max).
Cats, like kids, mature as they age... they move on from 'chasing random bits of dust' to 'tracking local and international news' and eventually 'world domination'...unless distracted by a nifty new catnip toy...
Look at the screen. They're all MEN. She's craving sex. HAHA!!
HA! Obama is so much better to look at than GB was!
OMG my dog Banjo does the TV thing too! I've had to limit his viewing!
He goes nuts for Animal Planet and it's nose to screen for Master Chef.
Is there something lacking in our "pet parenting"? OR do we just happen to have very smart pets? I swear he knows what being said.
I wonder if she'd still watch Fox News.
meno - no, not a kitty of mine!
My money's on the tracker at the bottom!
Cxx
Obviously, she is a cat in the know. When she meets with her little kitty friends, she wants to be able to discuss the latest world affairs.
My dog likes to watch ballroom dancing on tv.
I am worried.
