My favorite things

Aside from spending time with Max, here is what I enjoyed most during my 5-day stay in Barcelona:

1. Meeting fellow blogger, Oreneta, and the unexpected (but very much appreciated) tour of the city
2. Fresh seafood 4 out of 5 nights
3. Walking through a mall (we don't have any near where I lived in Germany, and I actually missed the experience of it)
4. Finding In Style, Vogue, and Glamour in English at a nearby magazine stand
5. The energy and nightlife of Barcelona. Restaurants don’t even open till 8pm and most folks head for dinner after 10pm.
6. Siestas (see number 5)
7. Eating snails for the first time and discovering they weren't half bad
8. The experience of trying out for a salsa class
9. Walking around our new neighborhood and experiencing the feeling of confidence that we made the right housing choice
10. Max's new company car
11. Learning that Wifi is pronounced "wee fee" in Spain
12. Window shopping on Paseo de Gracia (sure to turn into actual shopping once I drop this stubborn 5 kilos)
13. Crema de Catalan (yummy)
14. Sunny, warm weather
15. That I get to return in 13 short days!!!

I definitely agree with #7. Did you have escargot smothered in hot garlic butter? Oh, Lord, I want some.

Wow! Seafood, warm weather, english magazines and Max? What more can a girl ask for? (To say I'm a bit jealous is a bit of an understatement ... we were offered Barcelona before moving here to Muensterland but had to turn it down due to Bubba Joe's illnesses - ugh!!!)

Enjoy the sun and food and life!!! (((hugs)))

Glad you are happy with your future neighborhood... that is a weight off your shoulders! Nice car too :)

I've always thought of snails as land clams/oysters. People love those, so what's the deal with the prejudice? I haven't experimented though as I despise shellfish. One of these days though, I'll have to test the theory and compare them side by side prepared in a similar manner.

Hey, if there are any US magazines that you're dying for, I'm happy to put together a care package for you. Just let me know what you want.
