Mistaken

A couple margaritas with a shot of gran marnier in each certainly soothed my nerves before embarking on a 9-hour, transatlantic flight. Unfortunately, the cocktails also numbed the most important part of my central nervous system--the brain.

Max and I were walking through Dulles International yesterday when I spotted a man, who looked vaguley familiar to me.

"Hey!" I blurted out, just a tad louder than normal thanks, in part, to that last shot of liquid courage. "I KNOW you!"

The man paused, smiled wrily, but said nothing.

"Aren't you Joe's older brother Maceo from Franklin County?" I asked ever so certain I had this fellow pegged.

"Uh...no," he said walking away quickly and shaking his head ever slightly as if I had just said something inane and ridiculous.

Max looked mortified. "Diane, how could you not know who he was?!?"

"Huh?"

It was Taye Diggs.

And that, my friends, is how Diane Threw Her Groove Back.

Hehehehehehehehehheeeee!
LOVE it!

(I also have to confess I have no idea who he is and would have passed him by as no one I knew. Had to google him and I'm still not all that sure.)

He's gorgeous. Didn't you whip out your camera and take a photo? And don't feel funny about what you said - I think celebrities get that all the time.

I have loved Taye Diggs foreveh! Can't believe you didn't recognize him! He sizzles- in fact, Max reminds me a bit of him!
I watch him every week in Private Practice and wait for him to start sizzling with Addison. If you had taken a picture with him, I would have shopped myself into it!

Diane ~ It is always kind of funny to see celebrities, especially if you don't know they are celebrities! I used to work in downtown LA and they were always filming movies down there. I remember that I was talking to this pretty young blond lady who seemed to be watching a film being shot and after I asked her who was staring in it, she looked at me somewhat aghast and then said, "Well I am!" To which I said "Who are you?" She said "Well I am Donna Mills"... but I still didn't know who she was until a while later when "Knots Landing" became such a big TV hit. ~ jb///

First of all, welcome back! I'm SOOO glad to see that you're writing again. :)

Second, way to make an impression on Taye Diggs. Smooth like sandpaper...

This absolutely cracked me up! You gotta do what you gotta do to fly - damn the consequences. I'm sure Mr. Diggs got a great laugh out of it.

Thanks for rejoining the blogosphere. Enjoy your blog immensely!

A good laugh was had by all, we have all been there especially with a couple margaritas under your belt. Mistaken identity with some you know, but then you find out he's a celebritie very funny.
Have a nice day!!! Sam
