Martinis for two...

But last night, I wasn’t sipping them with my usual companion. With my husband away in Germany, I’ve been looking for ways to fill my appointment book. Luckily for me, Suvii, fellow blogster, Latina extraordinaire, mother of an adorable two-year old, came to town and graciously accepted my invitation for dinner and, in this case, a martini or two.

It’s rare when you meet someone that you feel as if you’ve known for a long time, but Suvii make it easy to feel that way. She’s a great conversationalist with diverse interests, and most importantly, a good listener. I was quite the chatterbox during our night on the town. And if you’re reading these words, Su, I apologize if I talked your ear off! It’s just that Charlie hasn’t been much of a conversationalist since Max has been away.

Suvii is only the third blogger I’ve met in all my time in the Blogsphere. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jamy of Grateful Dating and dearly departed (from a blog standpoint, at least) Sethro of the Brain Dump. These experiences turned out to be very positive for me. And Suvii was no exception.

But I have heard of blogger meetings that haven’t gone as well. Have you ever met a blogger that you wished you hadn’t? You don’t have to provide names, of course. But come on now—go ahead and dish. It will be our secret. ;-)

I have also met Jamy-- a great person. I`ve met three other fellow bloggers. Eternal Freshman has since vanished from the blog world-- she was great. Anonymous City Girl lives in my town, and I still see her sometimes. Most recently, I went to see Schecherazade in Northern State. All in all, my blogging intros have been nothing but positive!

I also miss Sethro. I loved his blog. I hope that he is doing well these days-- he had such a crush on you way back when....lol.

LOL As you well know, Diane, I'd better say that my one sole blogger meeting was wonderful. Chris would never forgive me otherwise.

V- HAHAHAHA You made me laugh out loud! I think Sethro crushed (harmlessly) on lots of women, but once he found the one his blog ended so abruptly. Nevertheless, he was a great guy and I hope he has found happiness in his real world even if virtually he ended so suddenly.

U- and I wouldn't forgive you either! ;-)

Diane, thanks for the post!!!! I had a wonderful time with you as well, sipping more than just two martinis! You didn't talk my ear off at all! I enjoyed hearing about all your diverse life experiences and I hope we can have more fun girl talk when I am back in town next week. I will be calling you!

My blogger meet-ups have gone very well, so far. I am very happy to have met all of them! And most of them seem happy to have met me, since most of us have been together more than once.

We had the greatest party ever !!

But then again, I'm just cheating; we've actually known each other for many years...

But they have a blog, I have a blog and we comment on each others blogs, so it does count, no ?

Hum...

Hello, Michele sent me.

I just met my first blog friend. In fact, she was a house guest of ours for the week. Not what I expected but still a nice experience. Strange, I thought my first blog meet would be with a more local blogger, not someone from across the planet.

BTW - your michele comment links to your old blogger account, not here.
