Regularity

Have you ever heard of a lizard needing an enima? My girlfriend called today to let me know she was taking her son's lizard, Red Sox, over to the vet for one. I thought all those live crickets he's been fed were suppose to be a good source of fiber.

Anyone?

never heard of that before, but I would have loved to hear the conversation between mom and son before the decision to go to the vet was made.

Mom? I worried about Lizzi. She hasn't pooped in days!

I've never heard of it - and I wonder how much that's gonna cost?

I think I'd get an eyedropper and shoot the lizard full of milk of magnesia!

ever since i heard that there's now a low-carb pet food for cats and dogs, nothing surprises me.

though this is unusual.

i would think if they varried his diet with veggies as well as protein, he'd be okay. but i've never heard of something like that. maybe he's just stressed?

Looks like the vet might need some money for Christmas shopping, so charging for ridiculous procedures is one way to get the money.

Um. Uh... No?

Of course, I killed my gecko (by accident, of course), so I guess I'm not exactly an expert on the subject.

Best of luck to Red Sox...may he poo and be delightful in the new year and shit. ;o)

I've heard that sort of thing about snakes. They get bound up at times. I suspect it's 'cause they don't move around as much in captivity. Body movement is good for regular bowel activity.

Not a good idea to use drugs on reptiles that work in humans. We don't react the same way to meds.

Good luck, Red Sox!
