I know I've been distant

I’m sorry I have been mute as of late. I had not planned to be absent from the blogging world, but I got the shock of my life last Thursday. I needed a few days to get my head together and decide whether I wanted to share this news with you right now.

The problem is when I have something on my mind, it’s hard for me to move it out of the forefront and write about other things. As silly as it sounds, even though it’s only been a few days, I’ve missed blogging. And as much as I like the comments I receive when I post something that entertains you, I have always written primarily for my own mental and emotional well-being.

For three years this site has been my outlet, the place where I share the feelings, thoughts, and details of my life that I might not publicize to anyone else. And aside from a handful of trusted friends, this site is a place where my virtual world and real world do not collide. So, why should I refrain from sharing this news with you?

My story begins with a visit to a German gynecologist that I found through referrals. After recent problems and the discovery of a new fibroid tumor in my uterus I needed a follow-up visit and ultrasound.

Dr. Sych listened patiently as I talked about my checkered medical history, the 2005 surgery, the discovery of the new growth. I also told the doctor that even though I had a complete fertility work-up about a year earlier, Max and I had not had any success tryin to conceive.

“Well, let’s have a look, shall we?” Dr. Sych said.

Within minutes I found myself in the middle of another ultrsound, my second in a month.

“Yes,” Dr. Sych began. “I see the fibroid. And I also see that you are pregnant.”

Update: Sorry I didn't mean to scare some readers. The doctor doesn't think the fibroid will be a problem. I only wasn't sure to blog about this because it is so very early on...only about 4 weeks.

OMG. Is this OK? Is being pregnant with the fibroid OK? I want to scream and dance with joy for you for both you and max, but is it going to be OK?

Quick! Tell me now!

OMG, I too want to say congratulations but not sure if that's appropriate.
I hope for you and Max that all will be okay.

I understand your feelings about blogging this, sometimes strange as it sounds I feel closer to my blogging friends than some of the real life ones.

I hope this 100% good news. At least it's good news that you were able to conceive. Take care. We're all thinking about you and hoping for the best.

Hon, I know *exactly* (minus the fibroid) how you feel. So, don't wory about your Holy Shit! moment taking you away from blogging for a while. Mine, just a couple of weeks before yours, took me a few days to post about, as well.

Congrats, I hope?

Wow, I completely understand your bloggers block... shocks like that tend to get us thinking about other things, eh?

I'm sure that I don't need to remind you of the benefits of having that baby right here in Germany. Good timing.

I'm sure that you and Max must be quite happy.

Congratulations! This is wonderful :) I am very happy for you. Put your feet up and enjoy a glass of lemonade and just soak it all in. I understand not knowing to blog or not. Something this personal can take awhile to work out. I am happy you did share it with us though. Congratulations again :)

I knew it!! After reading a comment of yours elsewhere I had a funny feeeeeling and figured this was it. What great news. I doubt the fibroid will be a problem in any way.
