My French colleague tells me the same guy is on the bottles in France also. She started to sing the French advertising jingle--yep, it's the same advert from the US. Good cross-cultural marketing they've done.
Yep, nothing says proper like a bald head and an earring, I always say.

I always point to that stuff and say to my kids "Look, it's Mr. Clean!" and they, being half German and all, say "Huh? Who's Mr. Clean? That's Meister Proper!"
I love how things we grew up with in N.America are called something completely different elsewhere in the world. Mr. Proper. It sounds vagulely naughty. :p
